Dial Corporation

The key element for the future growth of Dial is in the development of new innovative products. In keeping with this idea of growth, Dial became a subsidiary of the Henkel Group on March 29, 2004, and although the Dial Corporation (based in the United States) is centralized, the Henkel Group (based in Dusseldorf, Germany) is decentralized. This move allows for Dial to reach new consumers across the world while continuing to develop innovative new products (Dial Corporation).

Dial has two segments of Domestic Branded and International. Their International are marketed in Argentina, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the Caribbean (Winthrop Corp.) The products sold there are sold under the household brand names of Dial soaps, Purex detergents, Renuzit air freshener, and Armour canned meats and are not adapted to these regions (Winthrop Corp.).

The parent company of Dial, the Henkel Group, operates in 126 countries with high concentrations in Europe and North America. Their revenue for 2005 were 794 million (EUR) (Wikipedia), with export sales ($CDN) at an astounding $500,000 to $999,999 (strategis).

Henkel, via the Dial acquisition, sees 25% of their sales in the U.S.. In this diversified market they rely very much on the company brand name. They will maintain a strong focus on strong brands.
